Coordinated by the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (IRIS) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Xartec Salut is Catalonia’s leading R+D+I network in health technologies.

Created in 2021, with the support of the AGAUR, Generalitat de Catalunya and the European Regional Development Fund; the network aims to transform scientific knowledge into real-world solutions capable of improving people’s lives.

Currently comprising 122 research groups from 31 institutions, with the collaboration of 19 partner organisations.

The network promotes and drives the valorisation and transfer of medical technologies by fostering integration and collaboration among researchers, healthcare centres, companies, patient associations and public administrations, with the ultimate goal of generating social and economic impact within the healthcare system.

IRIS not only promoted the creation of Xartec Salut but also leads its operational and strategic coordination, providing structural support, specialised expertise, and a collaborative environment that strengthens Catalonia’s health innovation landscape.
