IRIS UPC holds the first meeting of its Board

The Board of the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (IRIS) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) held its first meeting on Tuesday 22 September. With this session, the new body was formally constituted to guide the institute’s strategy and activity in the coming years.

The meeting was chaired by the Director of IRIS, Josep Maria Font, together with Deputy Director Clara Prats Soler and Secretary Carles Mas Moruno. The other members are M. Lourdes Durany Vidal, Head of the Technical and Management Unit (UTG), and three representatives of the IRIS community: Guadalupe Gómez Melis for the doctoral teaching and research staff, Martí Planasdemunt Hospital for the research staff in training, and Manel González-Piñero for the technical, management, administrative and services staff (PTGAS).

The meeting was hosted by the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics research group (GRBIO) at Campus Nord, and the institute thanks the group for its warm welcome. Afterwards, researchers from other IRIS groups based on the campus joined Board members for an aperitif, a relaxed chance to share ideas and build closer ties across the IRIS community.
